"Women and Muslims in the People's Republic of Bulgaria"

Programme

 

The scientific initiative will be attended by representatives of both Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", as well as the Institute for Historical Research at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Institute for Ethnology and Folklore Studies with the Ethnographic Museum of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and the State Archives Agency.
Discussions will cover topics from diverse areas of Bulgaria's recent history, including the actions of the state towards the country's Muslim communities and policies for the integration of women into the country's socio-political elite.

Some of the results of the project "Women among the elite of the Turkish population in Bulgaria in the second half of the twentieth century" will also be presented during the event.

The conference is realized with the financial support of the Scientific Research Fund at the Ministry of Education and Science.
