The conference is organized for the 150th anniversary of the death of Hristo Georgiev, an influential and capable entrepreneur, prominent public figure, and generous patron.
Its aim is to bring together both established scholars and young researchers to discuss the importance of social and economic informal networks of acquaintances, contacts, and business connections in the implementation of political and economic initiatives in the Balkans in the 18th and 19th centuries.
The event is part of the scientific programme of the project " Networking and Influencing Regional Economics. Balkan and European Contextualization of the Archival Heritage of the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev", funded by the Scientific Research Fund, contract No. KN-06 OPP 05/02 of 17.12.2018.
