on the subject: "Donorship and entrepreneurship in the Balkans during the 19th century following the example of the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev "

The conference is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Evlogy Georgiev (born on 3 October 1819 in Karlovo) - a donor of the University and one of the most prominent Bulgarian philanthropists of his time. Prominent Bulgarian and foreign scholars will take part in the scientific forum, and their papers will cover various aspects of Balkan reality during the long nineteenth century, viewed through the common prism of philanthropic and entrepreneurial activity. Along with the brothers Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev, the focus of the scientific conference will also include other benefactors of the Bulgarian Revival period, their donations, the economic networks created and the entrepreneurial initiatives implemented in various places in the Balkans, and a variety of themes of economic development in the 19th century will also be addressed in an attempt to make more comprehensive sense of entrepreneurship and philanthropy as phenomena of the era.
