Rumyana Marinova-Christidi is a Professor at the Faculty of History, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and Head of “Hebraistika” BA Program (Jewish Studies). She teaches Contemporary History of Bulgaria (from the WW II until 1989), the Holocaust period, the History of the Bulgarian Jews, the History of the State of Israel, Education and Ideology during Communism, as well as Diplomatic, Ethnic and Cultural Dimensions of the EU integration process in the Balkans.

Prof. Christidi has been a guest lecturer at the University of Haifa (Israel), Carlo Bo University in Urbino (Italy), Bar-Ilan University (Israel), the University of Western Macedonia in Thessaloniki (Greece), Tel Aviv University, and Link Campus University in Rome (Italy).

She is the author of three monographs and numerous articles published in Bulgarian, English, German, Greek, Italian, and Mongolian. She is a member of the European Association for Jewish Studies and the Friends of Israel Association in Bulgaria “Negev”.
