Nina Georgieva is a doctoral candidate in the Faculty of History at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, enrolled in the programme “Modern Balkan History”, and a researcher at the Center for Regional Studies and Analyses. In her dissertation, she examines the role of the Ottoman past in the Balkan policy of the Republic of Turkey during the period 1989–2019. Her academic interests focus on the history, foreign policy, and transformations of the political system of the Republic of Turkey and their regional and global implications.
