Georgi Burnaski is a doctoral candidate at the Faculty of History, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, specializing in Modern Bulgarian History. He is also affiliated with the Center for Regional Studies and Analyses. His research interests focus on the Turkish community within the modern Bulgarian state, the social construction of minority identities, and the transformation processes of elites during the second half of the 20th century. Georgi Burnaski has conducted research at the Institute for Eastern European History at the University of Vienna and has been a fellow of the American Research Center in Sofia (ARCS). He has contributed to various research projects, including State Security and Trade Union Organizations in Socialist Bulgaria.
