Petar Stoilov holds a PhD in History from the Faculty of History at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski,” Department of Bulgarian History, where he defended his doctoral dissertation “Relations between Bulgaria and Israel (1948–1990).” His research interests include contemporary Bulgarian history, Bulgarian–Israeli relations, the history of the Zionist movement, the Jewish diaspora, Israel’s policy in the Balkans, and the geopolitics of the Eastern Mediterranean.

He has completed research specializations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and holds a diploma in Regional Studies and Analysis from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski.” He is fluent in English and German, and has working proficiency in Hebrew and Russian.
