Petar Stoilov holds a PhD in History, having defended his dissertation on “Relations between Bulgaria and Israel (1948–1990)” at the Faculty of History, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”, Department of Bulgarian History. He is the first Hebraist with a doctoral degree in Bulgaria. His research interests include the history of Zionism and the State of Israel, Bulgarian–Israeli relations, Israel’s policy in the Balkans, and the geopolitics of the Asia Minor–Black Sea region. Dr. Stoilov has undertaken specializations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, and he holds an additional qualification as an expert in regional studies and analyses from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. He is proficient in English, German, Russian, and Hebrew. Dr. Stoilov actively participates in national and international research projects.
