Dr. Hristo Hristozov

Hristo Hristozov defended his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of History, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” in May 2017. His research interests are focused on Ottoman socio-economic history and environmental history. In his dissertation, he analyzes the interplay between environmental changes and social transformations in the Rhodope Mountains during the 16th and 17th centuries. Dr. Hristozov has conducted research at the Leibniz-Zentrum Moderner Orient in Berlin and has been a fellow of the American Research Center in Sofia and the Alma Mater University Complex for the Humanities.
